Security Coordinator

General Summary

Primary responsibilities include providing for and maintaining the general security of the credit union, including oversight of access control system, security surveillance system, security codes, keys, locks, ATM's and all other security systems.  Protect AGCU from unauthorized access, theft of property, fire, sabotage, harmful situations and other recognized or potential threats.

Essential Functions

Work with the employees in your division/department as a team to effectively and efficientl

  • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate operational and / or security concerns.
  • Work with Vice President of Operations to develop security policies and procedures. Assist with implementation of policies and procedures as directed.
  • Oversee ATM by coordinating upgrades and repairs.  Assure the ATM's meet all regulations and legal requirements.  Coordinate periodic maintenance.
  • Assign all access cards / fobs / keys to employees as authorized by management. Ensure access is provided to all necessary areas, that access is removed when the employee terminates and that no unauthorized access is provided to any current or past employee or individual.
  • Ensure access control systems, security surveillance equipment and other security systems are adequate, properly maintained and fully functional at all times, including back-up systems in the event of emergency situations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and arrange third party services of security contractors, suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance program for all security and access control systems.
  • Conducts periodic inspections of facilities to assess problems and needs.  Recommend improvements as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain productive business relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors.
  • Assist with development and oversight of regular monitoring to detect potential money laundering and other suspicious activity.
  • Review reports produced by the core processing system of member account activity on a timely or regular basis to monitor / detect potential money laundering and other suspicious activity.
  • Monitor Money Service Business (MSB) members to ensure compliance with registration and reporting requirements to mitigate risk of conducting business.
  • Backup to Facilities Technician during their absence or as needed.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by management

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard financial institution security procedures and best practices is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a financial institution overseeing all security and access control systems.

Skills

  • Must be able to see, speak, hear, write and read English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
  • Highly PC literate.
  • Ability to use various complex software programs used in the process of monitoring facility and employee security.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.  They are required to communicate by talking, reading, writing and hearing and to operate a computer, phone and other office equipment. The employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  They will sometimes be required to bend, reach, stoop, crawl or squat.


The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  They may occasionally be
required to lift or move up to 75 lbs.  


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
They are frequently required to use visual sensory to read, work on a computer and review
documents and schematics.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.  Regular work environment
is in both a climate controlled office environment and outside, in an uncontrolled environment exposed to the elements (including heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
