General Summary

Primary responsibilities include opening or closing the branch facility according to branch policies and procedures.  Complete and balance daily reports for branch.  Perform transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high degree of accuracy.  Maintain accurate transactional records, providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.

 

Essential Functions

Work with the employees in your division/department as a team to effectively and efficiently

  • Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions. Ensure that each member who visits the branch has an excellent experience from entry until they exit the credit union.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers according to branch procedures.
  • Promote, explain and cross-sell other credit union services. Requires knowledge of the detailed features and benefits of all products and services.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheets. Research and resolve discrepancies.  Report any discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Address member-related needs as they arise, including, but not limited to, check ordering, debit cards, electronic banking and safe deposit box rental and access.
  • Originate account membership applications to ensure accuracy and completeness of information. Provide new members with account information packets and appropriate disclosures.
  • Perform account maintenance at member's request.
  • Scan all checks received daily and prepare for branch deposit.
  • Process night deposits and record proper information according to AGCU procedures.
  • Balance and verify ATM transactions, as necessary, according to branch procedures.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers according to credit union procedures.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of security procedures for opening or closing the branch and how to secure the facility before staff is allowed in or out.
  • Knowledge of robbery procedures.
  • Comply with AGCU, state and federal procedures and regulations.
  • Be available to work on Saturday mornings in drive-thru as needed.
  • May be required to work at various branches.
  • Some overtime may occasionally be required.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 6 months customer service is required.
  • Financial institution experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Symitar (Jack Henry) software is strongly preferred.

 

Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other Office products.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills, excellent member service skills, comfortable asking questions and identifying needs to expand the member relationship.
  • Ability to understand how to present features and benefits of products and services to members with differing needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work branch hours and open/close the branch when needed.
  • Must be able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
